It requires that the CEO has, let us say it frankly, that he has a communist state of mind, which means, I am kidding here, which means that the CEO cares about how value is distributed across the company. A company which wants to escape the hierarchical model must make the effort to understand that value isn’t something which come from the company and is brought to shareholders. A large part of this value must get back into the company itself. This is the first point.
Secondly, the company must be completely redefined and run much more around processes than around hierarchy. Third point, tools are already here. Furthermore, there are here and are cheap. Today, we find an old model, the software suite model, Adobe Connect, Microsoft and other, which are great for reassuring CIOs, and beside that, there is a whole set of tools coming from the internet world which are much more efficient. They require an effort, yes, of integration up to a given level, but are extremely cheap and much more efficient. At least as much efficient, if not more. And the best thing is that new ones are being invented everyday.
