Is there any purpose for organizations today? Yeah to fix up the stupid mess that they have made over the last 50-60 years. That’s the main purpose. They need to get the world back on track. They’re the only ones who can get the world back on track. And why do I say they’re the only ones? Because they’re the only ones who have got the money, and unfortunately it is well ransomed money. And if you look, if you look into… I mean just the other day I was having this conversation inside of the firewall with some colleagues of mine. One was saying how the 200 richest people in the world actually had like… I don’t know, it was a figure that was just actually ridiculous in terms of the amount of wealth that they have accumulated.
And we were saying how eradicating poverty from the world would take like around one-tenth of their wealth. And the other thing that I mentioned as well, as part of the conversation was another piece of data that I saw about the amount of money that were spent in useless wars that could be used to actually eradicate poverty. That’s what corporations need to do. That’s what organizations need to do. And people tell me: okay, so why would an organization be interested in doing that? Okay so here is where my Hippie 2.0 comes forward. I would tell them because if you don’t do that, we will be extinct as a species.
We don’t… this is …we’re entering the stage where we’re on a matter of survival. Why? Because climate change for instance is going to rip us apart. You know the world is going to continue moving on, because that’s what earth has done for millions of years. We don’t. We’ve got our days numbered already, so what we might want to do is trying to make the most out of it, and reverse some of the cause of what we have done. I mean people will tell me: “okay so what do we have to do?” So I say: “I don’t know what do you think what we have to do, it is that we do have to do is a lot, if we don’t do it.” If organizations going suddenly come forward and say: “you know, we need to start figuring out how we can influence societies to fix the mess that we’ve done”, we’re going to have a very, very interesting time coming up in terms of violent incidents that could take scale that you wouldn’t believe it, and I don’t think that anyone wants violence.
And I think that, from that perspective, organizations need to understand how they do have a responsibility with the society that they live in. They are part of this society. They are not like mysterious world so that they can operate on their own rules and everything else just because they feel that they are above the law. They’re not. They’re just like any and sure every one of us, and we need to hound them. We need to get them to understand that. We need to get them to understand that right now. We are entering that stage of our mere survival in this world, if not already.
