So right now the organization is trying to keep up with the change that people are leading in their external life. The thing is that this is not happening because the organizations don’t see enough value and because organizations are not designed to change. I think that’s a key point, the way organizations are today is just to protect them from changing.
So, they are changing only if they must change to survive, and in some cases they’re not even changing in those cases, they are just dying before changing. But if you look at the organizational tools that you have, those organizational tools are designed to preserve the existing structure. To keep the power in the same hands. They are not designed to help people emerge from the bottom-up and to gain power and change the organization. And on the other side the market is changing so quickly, that I cannot understand how an organization can survive and can thrive being the same for 100 years or decades or even years. The rate of organizational change has increased dramatically in the last few years. You would talk with some customers and you can’t find them because they – in the best case they have moved in a different unit and the worst case they just left your organization in a matter of weeks. So internally you need to find knowledge, you need to find the support, and that knowledge, that support comes from other sides of the organization. So you need to connect, you need to collaborate, you need to work together. And externally, you’re seeing the organization changes the people, but doesn’t change its shape.
